Friday

It was a fantastic Friday in Mrs. Harvath's class!
I would like to give a huge “THANK YOU!” to all of my amazing students and parents. I absolutely loved the beautiful gift that I received from you today. I wish you all a happy and safe holiday. I will see you next year!
***Please donate 1 clear, 2 liter bottle for science (due after break). In January, we will begin our THRILLING unit on Ecosystems. Kids will be getting their own terrarium and aquarium for their group, which will house real live plants and real live animals!!! For this exciting unit to work, I need two things from families: (1) please send me CLEAR 2 liter pop bottles with caps from now until after break (break homework will be to drink a 2L!!) (2) I am looking for one or two adult volunteers to take the bottles home and cut them so I can assemble the terrariums and aquariums for the kids. I have a great instruction sheet. It is not hard, it just takes time. We make 10 sets. Please email me if you would be willing to volunteer.

Wednesday

It was a Wonderful Wednesday in Mrs. Harvath's class!
Today we read a great story called Mr. Peabody's Apples. This book contained a great lesson about being careful with the words we say because words are hard to take back once they are said.
We also started our first day of math! The 3rd graders went to Mrs. Mali’s class and were excited to meet some new friends. The 4th graders picked up right where they left off, and were anxious to get back to work. The 3rd and 4th graders will all be coming home with an older edition student reference book. Please keep this book at home and use it as a guide for at-home practice. The SRB books will be collected at the end of the year. The Home Links and Study Links books have not been distributed.
This afternoon we received our planners and learned how to fill them out. We also went to our first swim class and art class! This afternoon we also started reading the book Frindle by Andrew Clements.

Tuesday - The First Day of School!

We had a wonderful beginning to the school year! The first day was amazing!!!!!! It was a busy day, full of many activities and details. I was excited to see all of the new friendships that were being formed in just one short day.
It was fun to go to our Town Hall meeting this morning and meet with Mr. Hartley, and to go to our bus family meeting to get to know some of the kids that we will be riding our bus.
A perfect first day!
